Mar Serinyà gou_ Milk transitions

EN_LÄM is a photographic and video project that was created during my stage in Verpejos residency (Lithuania). During a month I was a sheep shaper and the word LÄM comes from the word LÄMMCHEN (German: lamb) – that is how Nadine Badwin, a German artist who was living in this residency before me, called the little black lamb whom she started feeding with cow milk after the lamb was rejected by her mum. When Nadine left, we continued to carry out this task three times a day. This action and also accompanying the sheep to graze gave me the direction and the structure for this project called LÄM. LAM also is the sound that is uttered to balance the first chakra that isconnected to the land and the roots. Therefore, we can say that this project is a land song. The project speaks about the land and the transition to the land that nourishes and feeds us. It also talks about how to create respectful dialogue with the environment – the fauna, the flora, and ourselves – as well as about the fragile coexistence between all of these.

«LÄM_ Milk transitions» is A video of actions that treat the milk as an element of the transition to connect people to the land. We consume milk during a period when our stomach is not yet prepared to eat solid food. Then, when we have developed and are ready to eat solid food, we don;t need milk anymore, but we still love it because it reminds us of mum. The project speaks about the vulnerability of existence.
