BACK TO THE BEGINING
I go around the Earth until I reach the antipodes.
I go around the stones to discover what is on the other side.
I turn around myself, and start again at the beginning.
As the Australian Aborigines say, “in the beginning the Earth was gray and there was nothing… and from the inside of the Earth the rainbow serpent came out and began to shape the Earth…”. There are many Aboriginal stories that tell us about the beginnings of creation. These stories are transmitted through songlines that pass this knowledge from generation to generation…
Inspired by the distant and magical lands of the Wollemi (Blue Mountains), Mar created Back to Beginning, a project that vibrates to the sound of the didgeridoo, where the red and orange ochre sandstones are shaped by water, forming shapes of exceptional beauty, where the starry sky is so clear that it catches you, and the immensity of the Eucalypt forests disorients and captivates you.
Mar co-creates with the land, to show its beauty and to explain everything this land wants to teach us in a simple, magical and poetic way. Here, the rocks become paper to draw on, the burnt trees from the past fires are used as pencils, the stars fall from the sky and you can observe them on the sculpted rocks by the water, while the air sings with the sound of black and white cockatoos.
Earth, fire, water, air, ether are five essential elements of both the natural enviroment and the human body. Her project, created at BigCi, is a series of artistic actions-drawings, videos, performances that will remind us about who we are and where we belong.

Doy la vuelta a Tierra hasta llegar a las antípodas.
Doy la vuelta a las piedras para descubrir qué hay al otro lado.
Me doy la vuelta a mí misma, y vuelvo a empezar por el principio.
Como dicen los aborígenes australianos, “al principio la tierra era gris y no había nada… y del interior de la tierra salió la serpiente del arco iris y empezó a dar forma a la tierra…” Hay muchas historias aborígenes que nos cuentan los inicios de la creación. Estas historias las transmiten a través de las “song lines” que pasan este conocimiento generación por generación…
Inspirada por las tierras lejanas y mágicas de Wollemi (Blue mountains), Mar crea el proyecto “Back to de begining”, un proyecto que vibra al sonido del digeridoo, donde las piedras arenosas de colores ocre rojo y naranja son moldeadas por el agua creando formas de una belleza excepcional, donde el cielo estrellado está tan claro que te atrapa y la inmensidad de los bosques de eucalipto te desorienta a su vez que te cautivan.
Mar cocrea con el territorio para mostrar su belleza y explicar todo lo que nos quiere mostrar esta tierra de una forma sencilla, mágica y poética. Aquí las rocas se convierten en papeles para dibujar, los árboles quemados en lápices para trazar, las estrellas bajan del cielo y las observas sobre las rocas esculpidas por el agua, mientras el aire canta a cacatúas negras y blancas.
Tierra, fuego, agua, aire y éter son cinco elementos esenciales tanto del entorno natural como del cuerpo humano. Su proyecto Back to the bigining, creado en BigCi, es una serie de acciones artísticas -dibujos, vídeos, performances- que nos recordarán quiénes somos y a dónde venimos.

Dono la volta a la Terra fins a arribar a les antípodes.
Dono la volta a les pedres per descobrir què hi ha a l’altra banda.
Em dono la volta a mi mateixa i torno a començar, pel principi.
Com diuen els pobles aborígens australians, “al principi la terra era grisa i no hi havia res… i de l’interior de la terra va sortir la serp de l’arc de Sant Martí i va començar a donar forma a la terra…”. Hi ha moltes històries aborígens que ens expliquen els inicis de la creació. Aquestes històries es transmeten a través de les songlines (línies de cançó), que fan arribar aquest coneixement de generació en generació.
Inspirada per les terres llunyanes i màgiques de Wollemi (Blue Mountains), la Mar crea el projecte “Back to the beginning”, un projecte que vibra amb el so del didjeridú, on les pedres arenoses de colors ocre, vermell i taronja són modelades per l’aigua creant formes d’una bellesa excepcional; on el cel estrellat és tan clar que t’atrapa i la immensitat dels boscos d’eucaliptus et desorienta alhora que et captiva.
La Mar co-crea amb el territori per mostrar la seva bellesa i explicar tot allò que aquesta terra ens vol revelar d’una manera senzilla, màgica i poètica. Aquí les roques es converteixen en papers per dibuixar, els arbres cremats en llapis per traçar, les estrelles baixen del cel i les observes sobre les roques esculpides per l’aigua, mentre l’aire canta amb cacatues negres i blanques.
Terra, foc, aigua, aire i èter són cinc elements essencials tant de l’entorn natural com del cos humà. El seu projecte Back to the beginning, creat a BigCi, és una sèrie d’accions artístiques —dibuixos, vídeos, performances— que ens recorden qui som i d’on venim.
